CSP Technologies has the proven capabilities to provide customers with turnkey packaging solutions for products that utilize CSP's patented technologies. We have the flexibility of providing these capabilities on a select basis. Therefore, customers have the option to pick and choose any, or all, of these capabilities.
CSP has filed over 50 US and international patents on 3-phase polymer and seal technologies. We hold all development and project work for our customers in the strictest of confidence and secrecy. Since we value our own-patented technology, we understand the importance and sensitivity of maintaining the confidentiality of our customers' inventions and ideas.
1. CSP produces initial design concepts using three groups located in New York, Atlanta, and Paris, France. The design groups each have at least three competent engineers who cover all of the necessary disciplines in designing a successful package. They can provide SLA models, produce prototypes, etc. We provide design concepts and also can compliment your industrial design group in the design process.
2. We have our own tool designers and tool shops to build the necessary product molds and we ensure that all proposed designs can be effectively manufactured.
3. Our engineers work directly with machine suppliers and we have designed and built unique machines to run our patented products utilizing high-speed automation. CSP pays for all the engineering and design work unique to our products. We have installed and delivered complete lines running at speeds of up to 400 containers per minute. Note that this would include taking the vials from bulk, orienting, labeling, coding, verifying, cartoning, and shrink bundling the product. The line has the ability to carton 2 or 4 vials per carton with a 4-hour changeover.
4. CSP has run, at its own facility, over 1 billion containers on various high speed automated equipment. Hence, our in-house engineering managers are available to assist on installations using the expertise they have acquired over the past number of years through designing, building, and operating these lines.
5. CSP Project Managers are completely responsible for every aspect of the project, from the initial start through customer acceptance. All interfacing is done through one person.
8. We specialize in solutions that incorporate our 3-phase interconnecting channel plastic, and in molding containers -- utilizing our technology so that it becomes an integral part of the package. We also have the proven ability to make airtight seals and maintain the seal integrity over the package use life.
Since we design our lines to run164 hours per week and operate our in-house lines at that level, we keep the capital cost at a minimum by utilizing the equipment to its fullest.
Due to the range of business considerations, we address intellectual property concerns on a customer-by-customer basis. The projects we have done to date have varied greatly due to CSP's level of involvement. Our level of involvement is driven by customer need. We have gone from as low as 10% participation by CSP, to as high as 100%, and are willing to work at any of those levels. This would also include, in many cases, actually packaging the material in-house on a temporary or permanent basis. All of these arrangements are tailored to our customers' needs, and are handled on a case- by-case basis.
